Biography
Dr. Rui Yao is currently a tenure-track assistant professor at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Technion. Prior to Technion, he spent two years as a postdoc at the Laboratory for Human-Oriented Mobility Eco-system, EPFL, Switzerland, and another year at the Department of Management, Technical University of Demark (DTU). He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering, and a direct-track PhD in Transportation Engineering both from the Technion. His main research interests include choice modeling in the network context, large-scale equilibrium modeling of multi-modal transportation systems, theory-driven machine learning in transportation modeling and application, as well as mobility demand management strategies.
